Stefan Justin Sealy and Carnival have always been inextricably linked.
First, he was on stage, singing calypso and soca. Eventually, as his interest and involvement in design grew, his relationship with Carnival evolved into working on costumes. He was first introduced to THE LOST TRIBE when he worked with designer Shawn Dhanraj on his 2020 presentations for the TRIBE Family of Bands.
For THE LOST TRIBE’s 2023 presentation FLY, Stefan was approached by band leader Valmiki Maharaj to design a Monday wear collection for the band. The challenge was well suited for the self-taught fashion designer and clothing producer, who launched his own clothing line, Sealy the Brand in the local retail chain 212 Location in 2019.
The Monday wear collection, dubbed Highlight Monday, is an assemblage of athleisure separates suitable for the road. Stefan brings dimension to his garments through a variety of textures in bold neon colour, while remaining faithful to the classic sporty silhouettes that complement a range of body shapes and sizes.
