My main inspiration for this costume was water and movement, and that lead me to a watercolour painting that I had done some years ago. That’s when everything came together. With the painting as my muse it was easy to then develop ideas and colours to create a work of art.
The costume has drips and splashes on it as if falling from the backpack. I also hand-dyed the fabric for both the cape and the male costume to look like a watercolour painting with lots of shine from some gems. The overall effect is truly beautiful.
