Stories of
the Sand

THE LOST TRIBE has always been a vessel for the tales we carry on our skin – weaving history, imagination, and culture into the theatre of the road. This year, our caravan journeys into the enchanting expanse of the Arabian Nights to bring you our 2027 presentation: Stories of the Sand. We step onto the stage to honour the enduring legacy of the Arab-Trinidadian community, celebrating the rich heritage their ancestors carried across oceans to plant deep within the soil of Trinidad and Tobago.

At the very heart of these Stories of the Sands stands Scheherazade – the brilliant, courageous storyteller whose voice transformed fear into wonder, darkness into hope, and breath into survival. Through her mesmerizing lore of hidden kingdoms, fearless wanderers, and cosmic magic, she captivated a king night after night, weaving the timeless tapestry of the One Thousand and One Nights …

Masquerader Stories

The experience is nothing less than EUPHORIC!

You can play by yourself but you’re never alone. Mas is my solitary experience but I know I am part of a collective. It is pure energy and vibes and smiling, happy beautiful people on the road.

Bobbi R

The vibe is amazing!!!

You’re partying with a band full of creative, artistic and fun loving people.

Everyone is made to feel welcomed regardless of race, size or background. It feels like you are part of a family!!!

Dwayne M

2025 was the first time I played adult mas in Trinidad.

I am glad I chose Lost Tribe. Beyond the creativity and ingenuity, this band is inclusive, welcoming and makes you feel like family. Being part of Lost Tribe makes me proud, and appreciative of my culture and heritage.

Playing mas with The Lost Tribe isn’t just something you do

it is an experience that becomes a part of who you are …

Tisha-Marie D

Lost Tribe is a family band where we all look out for each other when we are on the road.

It’s a band of diverse creatives and masqueraders that all blend soooo well together. Before ever playing mas I couldn’t see myself fitting in with any mas band but upon discovering The Lost Tribe, I feel like I belong in my own creative way.

Ebony P.

Euphoric!

I’m extremely happy on the road in the band, everyone is so friendly and at ease on the road. Like a big happy family!

Tanya-Dee R.B.

The Lost Tribe is a fulfilling modern yet traditional mas experience.

Everyone is friendly and welcome. The costumes are beautiful and out of this world. I truly feel the spirit of Carnival when on the road with LT. It’s euphoria you have to experience because it can’t be explained.

Valissa M.

Playing with The Lost Tribe is about way more than just throwing on a costume

It’s about jumping into the story and being part of something bigger. The second you join your section, it feels like family. The vibe is infectious, every road turns into a party, and strangers become friends in no time.

If you’ve never played with The Lost Tribe, think freedom, joy, and pure Carnival MAGIC! Once you’ve done it, you’ll get exactly why we keep coming back year after year.

Jade W.

It's a place where you are free to be yourself.

Play true mas, meet friends you have not seen in a long time, and meet new ones. A band of togetherness and unity.

Fabian N.

It’s such a good vibe, you feel welcomed by all!

The Lost Tribe committee members, including the band leader Valmiki, are all very warm and helpful. I can play mas with out my personal crew because in Lost Tribe you become part of a movement.

Anika C.

Playing mas with Lost Tribe felt like I was a part of the authentic history and culture of carnival.

From the stories of each section, to the intricacies of each costume, it’s such an honor to be a part of a band that values culture, coverage, the journey of each experience through storytelling and freedom. This is truly what carnival is about. Lost Tribe captured this so beautifully.

Alyscia D.

EPIC!!

Being part of The Lost Tribe is belonging to a epic cultural experience you will never forget. Inclusivity and passion are the stand out traits that I feel when I put on Lost Tribe costume!!
